West Kilbride is a small village on the west coast of Scotland, in Ayrshire.
West Kilbride incorporates Seamill, which has some wonderful beaches and open countryside for all to enjoy .
Through the endeavours of the local initiative group, West Kilbride is now working towards living up to its "Craft Town Scotland" status. Currently situated in this picturesque small town are five studios and a contemporary gallery, showcasing a diverse range of work by both local and national skilled professional makers. Studios are not always open and currently there are no Sunday trading hours for A Gift Tae Gie or any of the craft shops.
Fantastic event to attend in West Kilbride include the Scarecrow festival, which take place at the end of July every year. The Yuletide Evening, which has become an event not to miss. The Yuletide hits the spot when it comes to bringing about the Christmas cheer. West Kilbride Yuletide night is held on the first friday in December every year. How to get here
West Kilbride is a 45 – 60 minute drive from the Centre of Glasgow via the M8, A737 and B781 or 90 mins – 120 mins via the more scenic Clyde coastal route the M8, A78 through Greenock and Largs
West Kilbride is also only a 50 mins journey by train via the hourly service from Glasgow Central to Largs route.
